Do Muslim American kids get the sex talk with their parents? And no, just saying “don’t have sex” doesn’t count. So, how do young Muslims learn about sex, navigating relationships, intimacy, and their own sexual identities?
Halal Bodies is a short animated documentary that explores how familial, cultural and societal pressures have shaped the idea of sex and relationships for young Muslims, and how that dynamic ultimately impacts their relationship with Allah.
The film is a co-production of iTVS and the Center for Asian American Media, and won second place at Blackstar Pitch. Halal Bodies is executive produced by Multitude Films and had its world premiere at CAAMFest 2026.
