HALAL BODIES

Do Muslim American kids get the sex talk with their parents? And no, just saying “don’t have sex” doesn’t count. So, how do young Muslims learn about sex, navigating relationships, intimacy, and their own sexual identities?

HALAL BODIES is a short animated documentary that explores how familial, cultural and societal pressures have shaped the idea of sex and relationships for young Muslims, and how that dynamic ultimately impacts their relationship with Allah.

The film is currently in production and has received support from iTVS, the Center for Asian American Media, and won second place at Blackstar Pitch. Halal Bodies is being executive produced by Multitude Films.
